Letter From The Editor April 2024

Dear Smithfield Times readers,

The April issue is dedicated to those individuals who set out to make their dreams—or their loved ones’ dreams—come true. Every month we meet new people who started from scratch— building businesses, organizations, and teams that fulfill lifelong visions.

Dreams come in all shapes and sizes. Some people dream of raising funds to help those in need. Others dream of monetizing what was once a hobby, highlighting their unique talents and skills. Over the years, we have learned that dreams do not stop here—and that the Smithfield community will work their hardest to bring their aspirations to fruition.

In this issue, you will read about a local dance, theater, and music studio that encourages young people to pursue a career in the arts. Paul Lonardo spoke to owner Donna Tellier, who shares her story with the hopes to continue growing.

Brie Finch spoke with two women who have turned passion projects into bountiful business ventures. Read her stories about an artist and special merchandise creator who resides here in Smithfield.

Businesses are not the only types of dreams being fulfilled. Joe Siegel highlights two separate fundraisers and those behind the efforts to raise funds for these important causes.

We have sprung ahead and are ready for warmer weather. Be sure to share your news, updates, and photos with us for upcoming issues of The Smithfield Times magazine. We appreciate you!

Warmest regards,
Brittni Henderson
