Car, truck show will benefit burn victims

The John Martins Burn Foundation presents its 1st Annual John Martins Foundation Classic Cars and Tow Truck Show at McCoy Stadium, 1 Columbus Avenue – Pawtucket, Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public featuring a combination classic car and tow truck show for all car enthusiasts or anyone who would like to simply enjoy a day of remembrance with their family and friends in honor of John Martins.

Other activities include food trucks, music, face painting, balloon artists, fingerprinting, “Best of Show” awards, prize giveaways and raffles with a special appearance by former NFL Indianapolis Colts player, Jamie Silva of East Providence and Boston College, signing autographs. All proceeds and donations to benefit the John Martins Foundation help support burn victims.

Martins suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 85 percent of his body in a fiery truck crash in 2015. He succumbed to his injuries 23 days later.

The John Martins Burn Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in memory of Martins. His grief-stricken family created the non-profit organization in his honor, to benefit other burn victims.
