Annual fall plant sale set by Scituate Gentian Garden Club

Gentian Fall Plant Sale is set rain or shine for Saturday, September, 24 at the Scituate Community house 546 West Greenville Rd. (state Route 116). Fall is an ideal time to add perennials, shrubs and native plants to a garden, the club said in a press release. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

Gentian will hold its regular monthly meeting on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Community House. The program will feature Karen O’Brien, speaking on “The Stillroom Garden- Preserving Plants for Health and Well-being”. Visitors are always welcome. Following the lecture refreshments will be served and an opportunity to meet and mingle with members. Also that evening Horticulturist chairwoman Cindy Gianfrancesco will speak on the “Amazing Allium”.

During the month of September, Gentian members will be out in the community, tending to the beautiful and colorful barrels and boxes at the Village Green and regular maintenance on the Wildflower and Blue Star Memorial Gardens.
